Why people switch to PixelLift
Most upscalers upload your file to a server and return it with a watermark. This one does the work on your own device.
Private by design
Your image never leaves the browser. No upload, no queue, no third-party server holding your files.
Fast and free
No waiting in line. A 2 MP photo upscales to 8 MP in about two seconds on a laptop.
No watermark, ever
The free plan exports clean full-resolution files. We do not stamp your images.

Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. PixelLift decodes, upscales and encodes entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. There is no upload endpoint and no image storage — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Does it use a neural network?
Version 1 uses a tuned classical pipeline: progressive Lanczos3 resampling with an edge-aware unsharp mask, plus optional pre-upscale denoising. It is honest about what it is — no fake AI badge. A WASM neural model is on the roadmap for version 2.
What is the maximum output size?
The free plan caps exports at 12 megapixels; Pro raises it to 32 MP with a maximum side of 8192 px. Very large files can exhaust device memory, so the tool clamps the scale and tells you when it does.
Which formats are supported?
Input: PNG, JPG, WebP and BMP. Output: PNG (lossless), JPG and WebP with a quality slider. Transparency is preserved in PNG and WebP.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes. You own the images you process. Pro and Lifetime include an explicit commercial licence; on the free plan, attribution is appreciated but not required.
